A grandfather and grandson duo, Jean-Claude Fassler, 77, and Kilian Antenat, 22, have spent eight years crafting a 1/10 scale replica of the Eiffel Tower in their garden, faithfully recreating Gustave Eiffel’s original 1889 design in its authentic red colour. A retired mechanic and longtime admirer of Eiffel, Fassler plans to celebrate the completion by spending a night on the model’s first floor, proudly declaring, “I’ll be able to say I’ve made it and that I have an apartment in the Eiffel Tower.” Morgan Ayre reports.
