Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian rights activist and a former Columbia University student, was arrested Sunday “in support of President Trump’s executive orders prohibiting anti-Semitism”, the US Department of Homeland Security said. Khalil’s arrest follows Trump’s promised crackdown on students who joined protests against the war in Gaza last spring.
