US House approves stopgap bill to avert government shutdown

Attempting to avoid a government shutdown amid US President Donald Trump’s turbulent economy, the US House of Representative on Tuesday narrowly passed a partisan emergency government funding bill, which Democrats fear would further slash domestic spending and afford Trump more power.
