A majority of judges in Brazil’s Supreme Court on Thursday found former president Jair Bolsonaro guilty of potting a coup to remain in office despite his 2022 electoral defeat. His conviction will become final after a fifth judge renders a verdict, but a lengthy jail sentence is a near certainty for the former leader.
