French prosecutors on Thursday asked for a suspended jail sentence of 18 months for cinema icon Gérard Depardieu as well as a fine of €20,000 and damages paid to the plaintiffs, two women who worked with him on the set of a movie. This is the first case to come to trial amid a raft of sex abuse accusations against the actor.
