France, China FMs meet in Beijing to discuss trade disputes and Ukraine peace talks

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Thursday to discuss longstanding trade disputes in a two-day visit that ends Friday. They agreed to strengthen bilateral ties in sectors like agriculture, nuclear energy and aviation as Barrot urged China to play a role in convincing Russia to end its war in Ukraine.
