Ne-Yo has opened up about his polyamorous relationship with four women.
The musician made headlines back in March when he went public with his polyamorous lifestyle and introduced his four girlfriends to fans on Instagram.
At the time, he named them as Cristina (a.k.a. “Pretty Baby”), Arielle (a.k.a. “Twin Flame”), Moneii (a.k.a “Phoenix Feather”) and Bri (a.k.a. “Sexy Lil’ Somethin’”).
Now, he’s shared further details of his “phenomenal” relationship, following months of speculation, saying he’s “in a great space” during an appearance on YouTuber Kai Cenat’s stream earlier this month. “I am currently in a polyamorous relationship. I have four beautiful ladies that move with me on the regular.”
He also addressed questions regarding the practicalities of his four relationships, saying that they all sleep in extra-large Alaskan King beds that Ne-Yo compared to “two California King [mattresses] next to each other.”
He also said that he is not “legally married” to any of the four women, but considers them all his “wives”.
Ne-Yo told Cenat that he decided to pursue polyamory after his divorce. “I’m 45 years old. At this point in my life, everything I do is about what’s best for me, what’s best for my kids [and] what’s best for my tribe. That’s it.”
He continued: “I’m going to keep it a buck with you. I was married before this to one woman. Things didn’t go well. I made my mistakes. We got divorced. A lot of people got hurt in the process, and I told myself at that moment I ain’t lying to nobody about nothing ever again.”
He added that he was seeing one of his partners when he admitted to her that he wanted to see multiple women.
“I went, ‘Listen, you know I rock with you. I absolutely rock with you. But it ain’t just you,’” he explained. “‘I also rock with her, and her, and her. So what I wanna do is bring this whole thing together. If you with it, let’s rock. If you’re not, that’s cool too. No love lost. You go your way and I go mine. That’s the only way it works.’”
Earlier this year, he also detailed how his relationship works with his children. During a Q&A session with fans, he was asked if his children have questions about his love life.
“Of course they do,” he responded. “And I answer them. Honesty. I’m not lying to anybody, not even my children. Like, ‘Hey this is daddy’s girlfriend, and so is that, and so is that, and so is that’,” per The Independent.
He went on to explain how his partners help look after his children, adding: “She’s going to make you some cereal, and she’s going to cook lunch, and she’s going wash clothes, and it’s all good. It’s family. It’s community.”
In other news, Ne-Yo has revealed that he’s a huge fan of the game Street Fighter. It was also reported that he takes his PlayStation 5 with him on tour in a “new personal tradition” in order to handle the stresses that his work throws at him.
Back in 2023, he was criticised when he made comments about parenting and gender identities. After initially saying sorry, he later took back his apology.
