England’s Red Roses are due to take on Canada’s Maple Leafs in this Saturday’s final of the women’s Rugby World Cup. The sold-out match at London’s Twickenham stadium is due to set a record for biggest crowd ever at a women’s rugby match. Ahead of the game, FRANCE 24 spoke to Ali Donnelly, author of “Scrum Queens: the story of women’s rugby”. She says her highlight of the tournament has been seeing young boys lining up after games to get autographs from the women’s players – a sign of the transformative impact the tournament has had on the public.
