France braced for a new wave of protests Thursday as unions, grassroots groups and civic activists took to the streets against proposed austerity measures and spending cuts. The Eiffel Tower closed to the public after a “large majority” of its employees expressed support for the unions’ strike action. France24 journalist Antonia Kerrigan tells us the latest.
