France: Outgoing PM Lecornu says consensus emerging to have budget by year end

In a Wednesday morning address, France’s outgoing Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu expressed hope for securing a budget by the end of 2025 and noted that the prospect of dissolving parliament appeared increasingly unlikely. Having resigned on Monday after widespread rejection of his newly appointed cabinet, Lecornu is set to meet with representatives from the Socialist, Green, and Communist parties later in an effort to form a coalition government.
