French PM tipped to survive no-confidence votes after pension reform concession

France’s reappointed Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu faces two votes of no confidence in the National Assembly on Thursday, hoping his offer to suspend President Emmanuel Macron’s unpopular pension reform will win enough support from moderates on the left to avert a second government collapse in as many weeks.
