Eighty years ago in spring 1945, concentration camps in Germany and Nazi-occupied territories were being liberated by Allied forces. What the Allies found at the concentration camps was shocking: starving men, women and children who had been forced to live in appalling conditions. But what happened to the prisoners after they were liberated? How many made it home? Claire Paccalin and Stéphanie Trouillard have produced a long format documentary on France 24’s website about two French women who were deported to Ravensbrück concentration camp in Germany. “We’ll make it home together” tells the story of friendship in the worst circumstances. Details with Claire Paccalin.
