Putin uses Victory Day to legitimize the war in Ukraine

Around twenty heads of state, a massive parade on Red Square, and at the heart of the celebration, Vladimir Putin. The Russian president pulled out all the stops to mark the 80th anniversary of Europe’s victory over Nazi Germany, using the occasion to further legitimize the war his troops have been waging in Ukraine for over three years.
