Demolition crews were tearing down part of the White House’s storied East Wing on October 20, 2025, to begin building President Donald Trump’s ballroom – despite lacking the approval from the Federal regulator in charge of such projects. The US president has said that he is partly funding work on the giant ballroom while private and corporate donors will cover the rest.
