Strikes kill scores in Gaza as Israel ramps up ‘extensive’ ground offensive

Israeli strikes killed at least 44 people in Gaza on Tuesday, the enclave’s civil defence agency told AFP, including eight people inside a school sheltering displaced people. Israel has stepped up its military operation in Gaza in recent days, launching on Saturday what it described as “extensive ground operations”.
