Katy Perry did everything she could to save the romance…
The singer dropped a new song, Bandaids, on Thursday, all about her breakup from Orlando Bloom — and specifically, what went wrong in the years-long relationship! In the painful new track, the singer suggests it was the actor who let her down, insisting:
“Hand to God, I promise I tried / There’s no stone left unturned / It’s not what you did / It’s what you didn’t / You were there, but you weren’t.”
Ouch.

She goes on:
“Got so used to you letting me down / No use tryna send flowers now / Telling myself you’ll change, you don’t / Band-Aids over a broken heart.”
Sad!!! In the chorus, the pop star shares what she did to try to make things work:
“Tried all the medications / Lowered my expectations / Made every justification / Bleeding out, bleeding out, bleeding out slow.”
She even accuses the Pirates of the Caribbean star of just giving up — not even doing the most simple things for her! The 41-year-old sings:
“It’s not that complicated / To ask me how my day is / I’m flatlining trying to save this.”
That said, she’s still grateful for the relationship. By the end of the song, Katy boldly says they still “had good times” and she’d “do it all over again” because “the love that we made was worth it in the end.”
There are lots of references to their longtime romance in the music video, too! For instance, that last line about “the love that we made” is a clear nod to their 5-year-old daughter Daisy. As Katy belts it, she looks over and spots a daisy in the dirt. Aw! BTW, it’s a similar sentiment to Orlando. After the breakup, he said he was “so grateful,” adding on the Today Show:
“We have the most beautiful daughter. You know when you leave everything on the field like I did in this movie? I feel grateful for all of it.”
The video begins with the performer dropping a ring in the drain. She sticks her hand in to try to get it, but accidentally turns on the disposal, injuring herself. The couple got engaged in 2019 but never married. It’s even significant to see Katy washing the dishes cause during her Call Me Daddy episode, she her “love language” is her partner doing simple chores like cleaning the kitchen and keeping things tidy, saying:
“Just do the f**king dishes! I will suck your d**k! It’s that easy.”
Sounds like Orlando may have been letting her down in all the most ordinary — but important — ways. Oof. The little things really do matter, y’all!

She’s now moved on with Justin Trudeau, and the romance seems to be heating up! They just went somewhat public with it! So, things are looking up for her.
