Donald Trump‘s attempts to distance himself from Jeffrey Epstein were dealt a severe blow this week. On Wednesday, the world got to see a ton more emails from the underage sex trafficker’s personal accounts, thanks to the subpoena power of Congress.
The email dump from the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee is a lot to sort through. We already saw some of the most damning ones — Trump spending hours in Epstein’s house with one of his victims, Epstein proving Trump “knew about the girls” — and even describing photos he had of the then-future President with young girls in bikinis. But buried in there was also this little casual conversation about the holidays — that could have terrible implications for Trump!
Epstein was having an email back-and-forth in 2017 with a woman named Faith Kates, the founder of NEXT Model Management, where they talked holiday plans. She asks Epstein where he’s spending Thanksgiving, and he tells her simply, he’s spending it with “eva.”
That’s been interpreted to mean he was spending the holiday with Eva Andersson-Dubin, a former model, and her husband Glenn Dubin, a billionaire hedge fund guy. The Dubins have already been exposed as having flown on Epstein’s plane — usually between NYC and Palm Beach. Kates seems to confirm they’re talking about Dubin by noting that “glenn” will be there — and is “such a snooze.” That’s when she asks Epstein what would turn out to be a more portentous question than expected:
“who else is down there?”
“Down there” presumably meaning Palm Beach. As in, who among their pals is spending the holiday there. Epstein answers:
“david fizel. hanson. trump”
Sorry, what? TRUMP?!?
That’s actually shocking, if true — because this email chain was in November 2017! That was 10 months into Trump’s first presidency!
Epstein seems to be saying he’s going to spend time with Donald Trump — over the Thanksgiving holiday no less — after he became president! Not to mention, that’s over a decade after Trump has maintained he cut ties with the sex trafficker! Several years after Epstein’s first sex trafficking investigation — that ended up with him only being convicted of solicitation of prostitution from a 14-year-old girl. Gross!
Where was Trump for Thanksgiving 2017? After all, he was president, we have a record of that kind of thing, right? Well, we actually do know he spent his first Thanksgiving as POTUS in his favorite place — Mar-a-Lago. Which is in Palm Beach.

So is it possible Trump and Epstein saw one another down there? Unlikely, maybe, but it does seem possible! There’s no proof one way or the other, of course. But the thing is, Mar-a-Lago is nowhere near as secure as the White House (something everyone was actually really concerned about in the early days of Trump’s presidency when anything still mattered to anyone). So we just wouldn’t know who Trump privately met with while at the resort! You’d think it would be national news — but remember, Epstein didn’t become a household name until 2019. Before that stories about him were getting killed. We’ve even heard journalists on hot mic complaining about the fact from back then. One of the things that’s always bothered us about this story is how little coverage there was of it. So yeah, disturbingly, it does seem possible.
It’s also possible Epstein was just mentioning offhand that Trump would be in town, not that he would be spending time with him. But… at the very least it seems like he was mentioning who would be down there from their circle of friends, no??
It’s not the only email suggesting Epstein and Trump were still in touch during the first year of his presidency either.
In a December 2017 email correspondence, someone who was visiting Epstein seemed to fear running into him. The person — whose name was redacted, implying they were a victim — explained how she arrived at Epstein’s house. But she said she didn’t want to go in early for fear of running into Trump:
“i m at the door but I will wait for my time.. i don’t want to come early to find Trump in your house”
Yeesh. Imagine being more worried about seeing someone else than the monstrous Jeffrey Epstein! But Trump did that to people, right?
