Post Malone just closed the chapter on one of the most quietly intense family dramas in the celeb world, and while the details are sealed up tighter than a VIP guest list, there is still plenty to unpack.
The Sunflower superstar and his ex, Hee Sung ‘Jamie’ Park, have officially reached a settlement regarding their 3-year-old daughter, and it’s been a long road getting here.
According to freshly filed court docs in Utah cited by Us Weekly and others on Wednesday, the pair informed the judge that they’d sorted out everything from paternity to parenting time to child support. All the major issues were addressed, but the specifics are sealed up and locked away, which means no one outside the courtroom knows the exact breakdown of who gets what time or how the specific financial arrangements will work. Still, the fact that these two have put their legal sparring behind them is a big deal, especially considering how tangled things got earlier this year.

As you may recall, the conflict began back in April when Post filed a case in Salt Lake City. Just days later, Jamie — who had moved to Los Angeles several months after giving birth — filed her own petition for physical custody in California. She asked for shared legal custody and stated their daughter, referred to only as DDP in paperwork, had lived with both parents since birth. What followed was a cross-state tug-of-war over where the case should even be heard.
Post fired back quickly, telling the court that California shouldn’t be involved at all. In his filings, he argued their daughter had her real roots in Utah. He claimed that the move to California was nothing more than an attempt to secure a higher child support award, insisting the case belonged in his home state. He wrote plainly at the time:
“I am a resident of Utah and have been since 2019.”
He also spelled out the timeline of their relationship and living situation, stating:
“Jamie remained in Utah, living with me from January 2022 until January of 2025. From January of 2022 until January of 2025, Jamie did not have a home or an apartment in California because she was living in Utah.”
In other words, he felt there was no legitimate reason for a California court to step in.
But despite the tension, Post claimed he had supported his ex’s move to Cali when the relationship ended in late 2024. He even acknowledged helping with the relocation, explaining:
“I agreed to financially assist Jamie with her move to Los Angeles paying to move her belongings from our home in Utah to Los Angeles. I agreed to do so to maintain our co-parenting relationship in a peaceful and cooperative manner.”
At the time, he said he also contractually backed her new apartment lease in El Lay, too, noting:
“I also agreed to be the guarantor on Jamie’s Los Angeles apartment lease so she would qualify for a safe place to live and DDP would be safe when she was in Jamie’s custody.”
But he made it equally clear that while he supported her move as an individual, he did not agree to shifting their daughter’s primary residence. He pushed hard for the case to stay in Utah, telling the court he believed Jamie was trying to “back door” a residency change and even asked the judge to admonish her for it.

Eventually, Jamie agreed to dismiss the California case altogether, allowing the Utah case to move forward. And from there, both sides finally managed to reach the settlement that was just filed — and, as we noted up top, sealed!
Since their split, Post has tried to move on personally, dating Christy Lee before that relationship fizzled out in June. In September, he was spotted with a mystery woman. And then who could forget this recent jaw-dropper — the sum total clearly indicating that his love life remains as headline-grabbing as ever.
But for now, resolving this custody matter seems to be the real milestone. Hopefully it’s a sign that calmer days are ahead for everyone involved. Especially their daughter!
