Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth has urged U.S. allies in the Asia-Pacific to increase their defense spending, citing what he described as a potentially ‘imminent’ threat from China. Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue security summit in Singapore, Hegseth emphasized that the United States remains committed to the region, stating that it is “here to stay.”
