Thirteen people went on trial in France on Wednesday for a racist insult targeting Franco-Malian singer Aya Nakamura. The defendants, tied to far-right group Les Natifs, allegedly displayed a banner in March 2024 reading, “No way, Aya, this is Paris, not the Bamako market,” after reports she might perform at the Paris Olympics.
