Human Remains Found Near Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island Home Have Been Identified — Was The Serial Killer Theory Correct??

It seems like the Holiday House mystery has been solved.

In case you missed it, Taylor Swift‘s beloved Rhode Island home made headlines in May when what was presumed to be a human leg bone washed ashore on the beach. This came at a time when there were several unsolved murders in the area, which led locals and internet investigators to suspect it could be the work of a “New England serial killer” on the loose. Scary!

But this case appears more clear-cut than anyone expected! In a statement released on Friday, the South Kingstown Police Department identified the deceased, saying:

“The South Kingstown Police Department has been notified by the Rhode Island Office of the State Medical Examiners that the human remains that washed ashore on May 14, 2025, in Westerly, Rhode Island, have been positively identified as belonging to Mr. Eric Wein.”

Eric was a 31-year-old Massachusetts resident who had been missing for months. His vehicle was reportedly found in South Kingstown on April 10, with his official missing person report being filed on April 18. The PD said they worked with several law offices in Massachusetts to conduct an investigation, which has now “formally concluded.”

And for anyone freaked out that there could be danger lurking around Taylor’s getaway, authorities believe this has nothing to do with any suspected serial killers:

“No foul play is suspected. We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Wein’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Well, that’s a relief, at least. Our heart goes out to Eric’s family. Hopefully, this allows them to find some closure in this distressing time. May he rest in peace.
