Prince Harry really does want to reconnect with King Charles III and Prince William!
According to DailyMail.com on Monday, the Duke of Sussex has a plan — he’s going to invite his estranged father and brother to the Invictus Games. Wow! That’s a huge olive branch! There’s just one unfortunate detail. The next Games, which will be in the UK (conveniently for the royals), isn’t until… 2027! TWO YEARS! Dang.

Discussing the unexpected invite, a source told the outlet:
“Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family. Invictus hopes the royal family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part.”
The source added that the 40-year-old is “hopeful” Charles will put aside their issues to support the competition, which is something the family has done in the past:
“The royals have always been hugely supportive of Invictus and proud of what Harry has achieved in that arena. This is one olive branch from him which might be reciprocated.”
And yet… maybe not? William is also said to be incredibly “jealous” over the success his younger brother has had with the organization, so… this may not have been the best invite after all!
Also, this event is literally years away! Who knows what things will be like then? Sadly, with Charles’ reportedly incurable cancer, it may not be the most reliable idea to wait so long. Time is of the essence, Harry!
While the event is a long way off, Harry is reportedly sending an email invite — with a formal invitation to follow — later this month. It really is necessary to give his family the best chance of attending, considering the monarch’s schedule typically starts filling up three years in advance, the outlet noted. He could have an easy out, though, considering the Games, which will begin on July 10, end on July 17, AKA Queen Camilla‘s 80th birthday. They’ll likely have lots of celebrations planned, so the King might not make this event a priority if he doesn’t want to.
According to Page Six, no invites to any potential high-profile guests have been sent yet considering the event is still so far away. Typically, the guest list is not up to Harry but to the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 team. Guess we’ll see in two years if this amounts to positive progress. LOLz!
