Pirates Of The Caribbean and ‘Leatherface’ actor Bob Elmore had died; he was 65.

The stuntman and actor famously appeared as Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and it was his co-star Caroline Williams who announced his death publicly. No cause of death has yet been shared.

Posting on Instagram this week, Williams wrote “My dear Bob Elmore has passed” and later shared a photo of the two together at a fan event in Crypticon Minnesota. Williams confirmed that Elmore passed away on June 28.

Elmore also played the Executioner in Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End opposite Johnny Depp. He was also in the original film, Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl, in 2003 as a stunt performer.

As noted on Bloody Disgusting, Elmore began his career in California on a theme park’s Wild West Stunt Show before being trained as a stuntman by Gene LeBell in Los Angeles.

Elmore had many roles in Hollywood films, notably The Usual Suspects, and he was a stunt double in many films including Uncle Buck, Casino, City Of Angels, Being John Malkovich and Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment.

Tributes meanwhile, have been paid to Elmore across Hollywood.

Home of Horror wrote: “We’re saddened to learn that Bob Elmore has passed away. Horror fans will always remember him for his role as one of the performers behind Leatherface in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.

“A skilled stuntman and true professional, Bob brought power and precision to the character during its most physical and dangerous moments.”

 

Horror Realm Con also shared a tribute on Facebook, writing: “Awful news coming out that Bob Elmore has passed away. We were fortunate to have him as a guest at Horror Realm a few years back.

“He was actually booked for 2026 but we have not announced any guests yet. We are sorry we won’t have a chance to be with him one more time. Our condolences to Bob’s family.”

More tributes were paid on Twitter. One fan wrote: “Rest in peace, Bob Elmore, beloved by Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 fans. Your kindness and warmth at every con will never be forgotten.”

Another added: “Sad day for TCM2 fans. Rest in peace Bob Elmore, you were my favourite bubba and a very genuinely kind and sweet person that let me talk and gush to him at every convention I saw him at.”
