An ex-Islander is spilling the tea on what happened in the villa when Cierra Ortega was kicked out!
During a TikTok Live on Tuesday, Zak Srakaew — who was dumped in Sunday night’s episode after it was revealed Cierra had been removed — shared exactly what the cast was told about the 25-year-old’s racial slur controversy!
As Perezcious readers know, Cierra was taken off the show after she was caught using a racial slur directed towards Asians in resurfaced social media posts. Production insiders told The US Sun earlier this week that she begged to stay on the series and offered to publicly apologize, but that wasn’t enough to keep her place on the island. Having already removed another cast member for a similar situation, she was forced to pack her bags and go — and it caused a pretty mixed reaction from the rest of the cast. And she may not have gone so willingly — some viewers think they overheard her screaming as she was removed!

It sounded dramatic AF! But now we’re getting even more insight from someone who was in the room where it happened!
While at first Zak explained that he couldn’t share much, the former Casa Amor boy dished all:
“When Cierra left, they gathered us all together — the producers gathered us all together, and then they said, ‘Unfortunately, Cierra’s broken some of the policies of our guidelines and she’ll no longer be here in the villa and that’s the whole information we can give you guys.’ So we was all in there, we didn’t really know what was going on, but that’s the only thing that was said to us. And you know, if we needed somebody to speak to, go speak to them.”
Oh, whoa. So, they knew this wasn’t a personal situation! In fact, they were told what she said was “offensive” — they just weren’t given more specifics than that! Their heads must’ve been spinning!
But this does explain why Cierra’s connection, Nic Vansteenberghe, whom she had just closed things off with at the time, had such an easy time moving on with Olandria Carthen! He was probably desperate to separate himself from Cierra’s drama — though Zak insisted he was still very “upset” over the shocking departure. He expressed:
“But yeah, Nic was really upset that she left. But at the same time, he couldn’t really be super upset or, like, he couldn’t express how he feels about the situation until he found out what she’s done or what she’s said because at the end of the day, it’s not just like you want to feel sorry for somebody. If you know they got removed from a show for saying something offensive, you can’t really feel sorry for them until you know what it is.”
Fair! It’s hard to react when you don’t know the full story. We’ll be very curious what he has to say when he’s out of the villa and catches up with the controversy!

He also opened up about his thoughts on her slur usage, which is something he can’t support considering “it’s directly to, like, my people” and is a word that “shouldn’t ever be used.”

As of now, Cierra has not spoken out about the scandal yet. But if Zak’s got his phone back already, it seems like only a matter of time now…
