South Africa’s President has suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu amid shocking allegations connecting him to a criminal syndicate and drug cartel. The accusations came to light during an unexpected press conference held last week by a senior provincial police chief. In response, President Cyril Ramaphosa has initiated a full commission of inquiry and appointed an interim minister. Mchunu denies any involvement in wrongdoing. FRANCE 24’s Tom Canetti reports from Cape Town.
