At 92, Cameroon’s President Paul Biya is already the world’s oldest head of state — and in less than three months, he will seek reelection for an eighth term. By the end of it, he’d be nearly 100. Around 80% of Cameroonians were born after 1982, the year he took office, and many are calling for change. Yet Biya remains the frontrunner, with no united opposition. Eighty-one candidates have registered so far, with the full list to be published on 13 August. France 24’s Indira Ayuk tells us more.
