Karol Nawrocki, a nationalist historian and former amateur boxer with a keen interest in the criminal underworld, was sworn in as Poland’s new president on Wednesday. The 42-year-old won the June 1 election backed by the populist right-wing Law and Justice (PiS) party, which ruled Poland from 2015 to 2023. FRANCE 24’s Adrien Sarlat has more from Warsaw.
