Police arrested a man in Paris who was filmed using the flame of a WW1 memorial to light his cigarette. The incident, which the country’s interior minister called “indecent and pathetic”, sparked outrage on social media. The so-called Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the top of the iconic Champs Elysees avenue, contains the remains of a soldier killed in the first world war laid there as a tribute to France’s dead.
