France’s largest wildfire this summer, the worst in its Mediterranean region in at least 50 years, has been contained after killing one person, injuring 13 and destroying thousands of hectares and dozens of homes. Around 2,000 firefighters battled the blaze in the southern Aude department since Tuesday.
