Speaking to FRANCE 24, Scott Lucas, Professor of International Politics at the University College Dublin Clinton Institute, says that following a ceasefire, Ukraine may find itself in the same position as Germany during the Cold War, enjoying the continued support of the West and integration in Europe, and that Kyiv envisages accepting short-term occupation as Russia struggles economically and holds territory which is ‘burnt to the ground’.
