Reporting from outside the Élysée presidential palace, FRANCE 24’s Clovis Casali says President Emmanuel Macron has given Sébastien Lecornu a 48-hour deadline to form a government. An adviser to the president told reporters that Macron would “do the responsible thing” if no solution was found to end this political deadlock by Wednesday night. “In other words, he could call for a snap parliamentary elections,” notes Casali.
