‘A speech calculated to appeal to Trump and the Global South’

Reporting from Kyiv, FRANCE 24’s correspondent Gulliver Cragg says Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly was one very much calculated to please US President Donald Trump and ‘to appeal to the Global South, to people who are far from Europe but might think that this war in Ukraine poses a threat to them in ways they hadn’t perhaps previously imagined’.
