The accelerating militarisation of space is no longer the realm of science fiction. As space becomes a central pillar of modern warfare, Alison Sargent welcomes Dr Mark Hilborne, Senior Lecturer in the School of Security Studies at King’s College London. Dr. Hilborn argues that as our reliance on space deepens, so too does our exposure. Europe’s fragmented approach, despite France’s ambitions, risks leaving it trailing the major space powers who already treat space as an operational warfighting domain.
