Miley Cyrus may be on good terms with her dad Billy Ray Cyrus at this point, but it’s clear that not everyone in the family is ready to forgive their father! And her brother Trace just made that VERY clear!!
The Metro Station guitar player took to Instagram on Tuesday to blast the country singer, and his comments are absolutely brutal! Sharing a picture of Billy Ray, Trace wrote:
“This man is so hungry for fame it’s pathetic. He really flew to Italy for a fashion show but wouldn’t come to LA for Mammie’s funeral while he was still married to my mom. Even after his daughter got him a 60k private jet like he demanded then he still didn’t come even after the plane was paid for.”
Yikes…
It is unclear which “fashion show” Trace is referring to while slamming his adoptive father for skipping his grandmother’s funeral. However, Billy Ray went to the opening of the Orizzonti/Rosso exhibition in Rome with his girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley last month. Is that the show Trace is talking about??

Regardless, the 36-year-old musician is clearly not happy with the Achy Breaky Heart artist’s actions! He ruthlessly continued to attack Billy Ray, saying:
“You’re the lamest man to ever walk planet earth. Honestly embarrassed to ever have considered you my idol. The best thing to come from your downfall is it made me go into beast mode. I refuse to be a washed up, delusional, evil person when I’m old like you. Christ is King. Get right with God. You need it.”

And Trace had more to say from there!!
To make matters worse, he mocked the Hannah Montana alum’s hair, saying it’s a “weird” and “homeless hairstyle.” Jeez.
So, those two clearly have not made up! And according to Trace, they likely never will! He no longer cares about making amends with Billy Ray, instead calling the older man “a lost cause.” Welp!
A fan reacted that the messaging “seems like a cry for help from a son that desperately needs attention from his father,” but noted that “bullying [Billy Ray] isn’t the answer.” To that, Trace responded:
“No I’m past the point of even caring if I ever speak to him again. I’ve surpassed him in every metric as a man on this planet. There’s nothing left to learn from his except from his mistakes. I had hope at one point but I’m convinced he’s finally a lost cause. I’ll continue to thrive and as the oldest son of the family the Cyrus last name will continue through me and my many children I plan to have. I will raise them the right way and be part of their life no matter what the circumstances are.”

It is unknown what triggered Trace to go after Billy Ray in this particular instance, but it is definitely not the first time! Earlier this year, Trace penned an emotional letter to the actor claiming he is “struggling” and “the world may lose [him] far too soon” if he didn’t get help ASAP.
The note clearly came from a place of concern, but Trace then made a complete 180 when he was informed by a family member that Billy Ray was “taking legal action” against him. In response, he called his dad a “disgrace” and said he “no longer” respected the country musician. And judging by this most recent update in this never-ending saga, it looks like Trace’s feelings have not changed one bit from that. Ugh.
