Multiple Bunny Ranch employees are speaking out about their experiences… And boy, does it sound like they get a rotten deal.
A&E is releasing part one of a new docuseries on Thursday titled Secrets of the Bunny Ranch… and it sounds explosive already! If you’re unfamiliar with the establishment, it’s a legal brothel in Nevada — probably the most famous in the country, if not the world! To many, it may seem like an extremely lucrative place for sex workers to safely make money… It even had an HBO show which ran for two seasons in 2005 titled Cathouse: The Series. But behind the scenes, the women were subjected to some pretty awful mistreatment.

In a preview for the doc uploaded to YouTube on Monday, several former employees speak out about just how much founder Dennis Hof, who died in 2018, financially took advantage of them. Apparently, the place had “a 50/50 split, meaning the house gets 50 percent and the women get 50 percent, but the women don’t even take home 50 percent because they also have to pay for supplies.” How was that not taken out of the house’s half?!?
Dolly Hart, who worked at the Kit Kat Ranch, explains:
“Dennis does the run down of how we split it, he’s doing the 50/50, and I’m like, ‘Okay that’s fine’ and he’s like, ‘Well, that includes tips,’ and I’m like, ‘That’s horses**t’, and then he’s like, ‘That includes gifts.’”
Wait, what?! He even claimed for himself half of GIFTS?! Hart recalled one specific instance of this when a client gifted an employee a car and she was forced to “split” it by “paying out” Hof for half:
“I’m over here like, ‘Why did you tell him?’”
Messed up!
Hof’s former publicist and personal assistant Deanne Holliday also speaks out in the trailer, adding that the 50 percent the women took home was further chipped away due to rent they had to pay for the rooms they used there! And that was $45 a DAY, seven days a week! Jeezus!
Cathouse star Shelly Dushell adds they had to purchase their own condoms, lube, sex toys, and more. Sounds like a raw deal to us!
