Casualties feared after magnitude-6.3 earthquake strikes Afghanistan

A magnitude 6.3 earthquake rattled northern Afghanistan overnight, striking at a depth of 28 km near Kholm, close to Mazar‑i‑Sharif, the US Geological Survey said, just two months after a tremor in the east killed more than 2,200 people.
