Firefighters have brought a massive wildfire in southern France under control but local authorities warned on Sunday that extreme heat and dry conditions could cause the blaze to flare up again as parts of the Mediterranean region endure a heatwave, with temperatures expected to hit 40 degrees Celsius in some areas.
