If you haven’t heard yet, a rumor is going around online that the Avengers star cheated on Alba Baptista. You know, his young wife… the one who just gave birth to their daughter a few weeks ago. Yeah. Ick.
It started earlier this month when a blind item dropped claiming an “A-List actor” from Boston, known for portraying a “clean-cut hero,” was spotted with a brunette at a “no cameras, no questions” type of bar in the city, while his wife was visiting family overseas before the arrival of their baby.

Based on the tip’s description, it didn’t take social media users long to guess it was about Chris! A followup blind item then alleged “the city’s favorite movie hero” continued to see the brunette — even after his wife had their child recently! UGH! However, after the rumor went viral this week, fans really did some digging — and some believe they found her! Yes, really! Internet sleuths think the brunette could be… Tara Testa!
We don’t expect most casual fans to know the name, but big Chris Evans stans will know that’s his longtime best friend! Longtime as in, well over two decades!

Chris and Tara grew up together in the Boston area. They maintained a friendship for decades — even after he stepped into the spotlight. In 2011, the Materialists star said his beloved bulldog often stayed with “a girl named Tara — I grew up with her in Boston, and she’s lived out in L.A. for a few years,” adding:
“She absolutely adores him.”

Back then, there was some speculation that the pair were more than best friends. However, according to E! News, Tara shut it down on the red carpet, saying:
“Oh no! I’m not his girlfriend.”
Chris then added:
“This is one of my best friends on the planet from back home.”
Just friends?? And throughout the years, Tara posted about him on social media and attended other events alongside him. Her account is private, so you can’t see the posts. However, their pictures together are all over social media anyway.

But is Tara really the brunette in question? If so, did the blind items get it wrong? Was Chris simply catching up with his friend in Boston, or is there something more scandalous going on between them? Hmm.
The thing is, that is NOT the impression the leaky bar staff and patrons are getting. They note how whatever is going on looks to everyone else, calling it “the worst-kept secret in the room.” And after the first blind hit the internet, they say the pair are acting differently — that the brunette has changed her pattern to be more careful: “different entrance, earlier exits, and a sudden interest in keeping her head down.”
That sounds like someone trying to hide, right? Why would Tara hide? Alba must know about her husband’s childhood friend. Why would there be anything to hide at all?? Is the “worst-kept secret” that the old BFFs are enjoying some benefits as well? And if so… have they always????
Take all this with a grain of salt, of course. We still have no idea if the gal in question is even her. Also, for what it’s worth, Alba still follows Tara’s Instagram account!
That doesn’t seem like the action of a woman scorned, right?
