Cierra Ortega has been dumped from the villa! And this wasn’t the Islanders’ doing!
Producers of Love Island USA heard the criticisms surrounding Cierra after she was caught allegedly using a racial slur in a resurfaced post and finally took action on Sunday night’s episode! In a very unceremonious axing, the contestant was removed with the narrator, Iain Stirling, simply revealing she “left the villa due to a personal situation.” That’s one way to describe it…

Nic Vansteenberghe, whom she had just recently closed things off with, was described as “officially single” and shared a cryptic conversation with Ace Greene about his confusion and disappointment with the shock removal. While at first he wasn’t sure what he was going to do next, he quickly rebounded by coupling up with Olandria Carthen by the end of the episode. Moving on fast!
Fans of the popular dating series have been calling for Cierra to be removed from the series after she was caught using a racist slur in a resurfaced post in which she dropped a derogatory term while describing her reason for getting Botox done in 2020. In the Instagram Story selfie reportedly posted at the time, the 25-year-old allegedly wrote:
“botox isn’t for everyone but I love it for me!!! I am incredibly expressive with my face and I catch myself frowning for no reason throughout the day when I’m focusing on something or thinking too hard lol”
She went on to use a racial slur aimed at Asians, writing:
“I can also be a little c***** when I laugh/smile so I love getting a mini brow lift to open up my eyes and get that snatched look”

Jeez. WTF was the need to say that?! She’s used the same word in at least one other resurfaced alleged IG post from 2015, as well.
Despite being in the only closed-off couple and there being just one week of episodes left, fans were adamant that she be kicked off the island to show that no discrimination would be tolerated whatsoever. Plus, producers set a precedent when dumping Yulissa Escobar within days of the season’s launch for using the n-word on a podcast, so for more reasons than one, Cierra’s exit seemed like the necessary next step! And those behind the scenes apparently agreed!
