Claims about Brigitte Macron’s gender a ‘perfect storm of transphobia, conspiracy and fake news’

Speaking on FRANCE 24, Flora Bolter, Co-Director of the LGBTI+ Observatory at the Jean Jaurès Foundation, says that the claims about Brigitte Macron’s gender are a ‘perfect storm’ of transphobic discourse, conspiracy theories and fake news, adding that some of the attempts by France’s First Lady to clear her name may have been received somewhat negatively by the LGBTI+ community because of the implication of considering being trans as offensive.
