Margaret Cho is NOT an Ellen DeGeneres fan.
The fan-favorite comedian appeared on The Kelly Mantle Show podcast on Wednesday and dished some juicy details about her decades-long relationship with the defamed talk show host… Spoiler alert: it wasn’t great!
While on the topic, Margaret revealed she’s known Ellen for “such a long time,” yet for some reason they never clicked:
“It’s so weird now, [the] public perception of her is more true to … she’s mean. She was like a mean girl, kind of, but also she would be real nice.”
She continued:
“I think she always had negative feelings toward me because her girlfriends and wives always liked me … There’s a kind of woman [who] loves a female comic … But yeah, Ellen was really weird, and not nice to me for most of my career.”

The 56-year-old recalled opening for Ellen at comedy clubs in the ‘80s “way before her big fame,” yet when she worked on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in the 2000s, the Finding Dory actress acted as if they were strangers:
“She acted like we just met. And I’m like, ‘Bitch, what?’ That’s weird. We go way back.’”
Margaret called the behavior “creepy and weird” before detailing a WILD story involving Ellen and David Bowie. She recalled:
“David Bowie had been on the show, and he was so excited that the night before that, I had come to his show wearing this giant Chinese emperor outfit. He was really thrilled about it, and he talked at length about it.”
But that footage never saw the light of day, because according to Margaret, Ellen had it cut:
“She cut it out of the show, which made me so mad. The producer, who’s a really good friend of mine, had to call me and tell me, ‘I can’t believe she did this, but she cut it out of the show. You need to know that he was going on and on about your outfit. He loves you.’”
That’s so messed up! We mean at least Margaret got to hear about David’s praise, but WTF! She added:
“I don’t know if it was personal, maybe it was for time. But still, I’m gonna take it personally because I decided to.”
