Three years after Giorgia Meloni’s election as prime minister, her government has become the third-longest serving one in the history of the Italian Republic. Her personal approval is at 42%, and she has stabilised the country’s economy. But critics say she has not dealt with the structural reforms the country needs, and that without the EU Covid recovery money, Italy would be in a recession.
