Denise Richards Dodging A Bullet? Aaron Phypers Is Being Sued For Allegedly Selling A Dying Woman Cancer Treatment That Didn’t Work!

Denise Richards may feel upset over Aaron Phypers‘ filing for divorce, but once the shock goes away… she may realize the breakup is actually a blessing in disguise??

It turns out her ex-husband was sued for fraud last year after he sold a couple cancer treatment that didn’t work — and he won’t give the money back despite a previous agreement! Yeesh! Awful stuff if true…

According to Us Weekly, Rupert Perry filed a lawsuit against Aaron in November 2024 over payments his late wife, award-winning art director Elina Katsioula-Beall, made for stem cell treatments at Aaron’s wellness center, Quantum 360 Club. (You know, the wellness center he reportedly had to close because it was costing him a fortune?) Rupert said Elina was diagnosed with sarcoma in 2019 — “a rare type of malignant (cancerous) tumor that develops in bone and connective tissue, such as fat, muscle, blood vessels, nerves and the tissue that surrounds bones and joints,” per the Cleveland Clinic.

After her diagnosis, Rupert said his wife tried many treatments, but nothing worked. She was willing to try anything that might help — including alternative medicine. That’s when she met Aaron, per the suit. Rupert claimed Aaron told Elina about a stem cell treatment that he guaranteed would “cure or at least ameliorate” her condition. And when we say guarantee, we mean it — if it didn’t, he promised to give back half of the money:

“[Phypers] claimed that the treatment had a 98 percent success rate and he was so confident in it that, if it did not work, he would refund to [Katsioula-Beall] and [Perry] fifty percent (of the money they [paid] to him for the treatment.”

What! Cancer treatments are extremely expensive, and a refund for them is unheard of! You won’t get the kind of deal Aaron offered at a hospital or cancer center! It’s almost too good to be true…

Elina, with no other options at the time, took Aaron at his word and accepted the deal. Rupert said she began treatment in July 2023, and it lasted until September. She allegedly shelled out $126,000 to Aaron during those three months. Damn. Per the lawsuit, she got an MRI in December to check on her progress and received awful news. The treatment did not work, and her tumors grew 25 percent in three months. Oh no. That same month, Elina allegedly informed Aaron about the results and asked for a refund of $63,000. Fair enough as that’s what was promised, right? However, Rupert claimed that instead of just giving her the money, Aaron told her to get another round of treatment.

Elina was done, though. Her husband claimed she refused and asked Aaron for her money back again a couple of weeks later. The Denise Richards & Her Wild Things star allegedly acknowledged he owed them money in a message sent to a third party — but he never paid up. Rupert’s wife didn’t give up, though. The lawsuit claimed Elina emailed Aaron in March 2024 “as she was dying from cancer” and asked for her $63,000, but he ignored her.

Sadly, Elina never saw the money again. She died on May 21, 2024. Absolutely heartbreaking…

Rupert took over the fight following his wife’s death. He claimed he talked to Aaron, and he denied ever owing the couple money. Instead, Rupert alleged he received a bunch of excuses, and no refund. The lawsuit continues:

“[Phypers’] aforementioned misconduct was intentional, willful, and done for the purpose of depriving Plaintiff of property and/or legal rights or otherwise causing injury. despicable conduct subjected [Katsioula-Beall’s estate] to cruel and unjust hardship in conscious disregard of his rights.”

Rupert now wants the entire unpaid refund, along with punitive damages against Aaron. For his part, sources close to Denise’s ex-husband denied to Us he was liable for the debt. The insider claimed he was only the middleman, and the CEO of the company promised the refund, not him. Hmm. Rupert tells a different story.

This has allegedly been a huge battle to get the money from Aaron. And what’s more, it’s a struggle to even serve him papers! That’s right! Rupert’s been unable to serve Aaron! Back in February, per Us Weekly, he said he couldn’t find Aaron since his business office is shut down, and he doesn’t know where the guy lives:

“[Phypers’] place of business is closed and empty. [Phypers’] residence is not known. I have searched telephone books and property records in this county and have not found any records for [Phyper].”

So Rupert asked the judge for permission to serve Aaron through an advertisement in the newspaper, and the request was granted. According to court documents obtained by Us on Friday, Rupert placed ads in The Malibu Times on June 19, June 26, July 3, and most recently July 10 to let Aaron know he is being sued in Los Angeles Superior Court and has 30 days to respond to the case in court. And of course, it’s how hitting headlines a little more widespread than that… And no wonder!

To recap… Rupert claims Aaron promised a vulnerable woman a treatment he assured her would work. And he was so confident that if it didn’t, he promised half her money back. And yet, he allegedly walked back on the agreement despite Elina being on her deathbed… Out of what, greed??

The even worse possibility, of course, is that he preyed on her desperation, deceived her, and never planned to return it in the first place. What a messed up situation… if the suit’s allegations are true. It makes you wonder what Denise ever saw in the guy.

Not only is Aaron going through a messy divorce, but a nasty lawsuit battle! Wow! It’s no wonder he is gunning for spousal support! He has no income but a lot of bills to cover soon! He needs the cash!
