Israeli-Russian academic Elizabeth Tsurkov was delivered to the US embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday after “extensive efforts” by Iraqi security services ended over two years of captivity for Tsurkov, who was researching pro-Iran factions when she was kidnapped.
