Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson are losing it!
The ex-Duke of York, known until oh-so-recently as Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife are enjoying — if you can call it that — their last days in Royal Lodge before they’ll pack their bags for good. They’ve finally been kicked out now after Andrew’s royal titles have been stripped, a massive decision by big brother King Charles III. It’s unclear exactly when they’ll be forced to vacate, but it’s expected to be sooner rather than later.
And because of all this, as you can probably imagine, it’s not a pretty sight inside the mansion right now. Speaking to The Sun last week, an insider said the exes are spending all their time trying to wrap their heads around this unexpected turn of events. One source painted a bleak picture:
“They are both spending a lot of time alone. Andrew rarely goes out and has been padding around the lodge and ranting and muttering.”

Meanwhile, Fergie has been spending most of her evenings in the bar near the residenc, ironically called The Doghouse. There she reportedly opens up to staff and friends. She’s “leaning on” loyal staffers, even asking them to stay late to keep her company. Oof.
“It is probably far-fetched but she is s**t-scared and massively on edge. Luckily Sarah has quite a few staff left working for her who really like her, and she is really leaning on them for support. Sarah is spending quite a lot of evenings in The Doghouse, which is a purpose-built bar behind Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park. She drinks in there with friends and staff to escape from what is going on in her life generally. And while she is there, she takes advice on what to do next.”
While the former Yorks spend lots of time apart, when they do get together, it’s to commiserate about their futures:
“Andrew and Sarah are leading separate lives — at different ends and on different wings. But they come together quite often for lunch and dinner, and this is where they talk about their futures. They have been heard having some pretty intense conversations about what is going on.”
The confidant added:
“But the one thing that brings them together is their daughters Beatrice and Eugenie — as they both want to shield them as much as possible from what is going on.”
Oof. It sounds so sad! Though it’s hard to drum up sympathy for them given their ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
While Andrew’s set to move into another property in the royal fold, Fergie is going her own way — even though she has no clue what that means! The source shared:
“One thing Fergie is not sure about is where she will live. For the first time in many years though, it will be away from Andrew.”
That said, “given she is worried about security, a move abroad seems unlikely.” Understandably, she might want to stay somewhere where she feels comfortable! Especially since she’s very scared for what comes next…
This change has left her fearing for herself and Andrew, worried they could be targeted now that they’ve lost the tight security of the estate. But is she worried about random attackers? Or law enforcement?? Horrible allegations against Andrew have been public for some time, but recent email revelations have shown Fergie herself was super close to Epstein, as well — even after some of his crimes were known to her. The insider elaborated:
“Sarah, in particular, is panicking about what comes next and she is not in a good place. She fears being caught in the crosshairs and is worried about herself and her and Andrew’s daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie. But she is particularly fearful for Andrew as she knows he was at the centre of the Epstein scandal. She has talked about ‘dark forces’ potentially targeting him.”
“Dark forces”?? Jeez. Maybe it’s less about legal consequences and more about the powerful and dangerous men who want to keep everything quiet?? Sounds like she’s really on edge…
It’s going to be a big change for them to be shunned by the rest of the royals! They better soak in these few remaining days in the mansion…
