Florence + The Machine have been announced as a headliner for the 2026 edition of NOS Alive Festival in Portugal.
Florence Welch and co. have already confirmed a UK and European arena headline tour for February and now they have been named as the headline act for the NOS Stage on Saturday 11 July.
The group join the previously announced headliners Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, who will top the bill for the 18th edition of the festival in Algés, near Lison, on Thursday 9 July.
Tickets for NOS Alive 2026 are available to buy now, and you can find yours here.
Florence + The Machine will release their sixth album ‘Everybody Scream’ on October 31, the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Dance Fever’. So far, they have shared the title track and the single ‘One Of The Greats’, and have confirmed the full album tracklist.
Their UK and European tour will include stops in Glasgow, Birmingham, Belfast, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield and Manchester and will include two huge shows at London’s O2 Arena on February 16 and 17. Find any remaining tickets here.
The new album features contributions from IDLES‘ Mark Bowen, Mitski and The National’s Aaron Dessner – all of whom worked with Welch on the title track.
Welch has said inspiration for the album came from undergoing lifesaving surgery during the ‘Dance Fever’ tour in 2023. She has since opened up further about the procedure, revealing that she had suffered an ectopic pregnancy.
“The closest I came to making life was the closest I came to death,” she said. “And I felt like I had stepped through this door, and it was just full of women, screaming.”
Earlier, she had touched on exploring spiritual mysticism and folk horror – understanding the limits of her body and questioning what it meant to be “healed”. These are themes that helped shape the record, along with exploration of womanhood, partnership, ageing and dying.
Next week, Welch will appear at an “intimate” London screening to debut the “visual world” she created to accompany her new album. The frontwoman is due to participate in a Q&A with creative director Autumn de Wilde at the event.
In other news, Welch has discussed how she “decided to make some changes” after joining Taylor Swift on stage at Wembley Stadium.
