The defendants in the coup trial of Brazil’s far-right former president Jair Bolsonaro began testifying at the Supreme Court on Monday, an AFP reporter saw. Bolsonaro, who governed Brazil from 2019 to 2022, will take the stand along with seven co-accused on charges of plotting to overturn the results of 2022 elections that Bolsonaro lost to leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
