Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said in an interview broadcast on Algerian television that French counterpart Emmanuel Macron is the “sole point of reference” for repairing damaged ties with France. Relations between Paris and Algiers have been strained over immigration and Macron’s recognition of Moroccan sovereignty of the disputed territory of Western Sahara.
