A Paris court on Thursday convicted former president Nicolas Sarkozy of criminal conspiracy for allegedly accepting illegal campaign funding from late Libyan dictator Moamer Kadhafi during his 2007 presidential bid. He was acquitted of a separate corruption charge, but the judge said he allowed aides to seek financial support for his campaign. Sentencing is pending, with prosecutors seeking a seven-year prison term. FRANCE 24’s Philip Turle has more details.
