A group of French members of parliament said on Tuesday that they want Alfred Dreyfus, a Jewish French army captain wrongly convicted of treason in 1894, to be awarded the higher rank of brigadier general. Dreyfus was accused of passing secret information to the German military attache and put on trial amid a virulent anti-Semitic press campaign.
